Slut: Derogatory or Empowering
The taboo word I chose to write about is “slut.” Slut is a unique word a lot of history behind it. I conducted a survey of about 30 people (15 boys, 15 girls ages range 17-25) and asked the definition of the word and when and they use the word. The survey also included questions of whether it was acceptable for some to use the word while others weren’t allowed to use it. The use of the word has become widespread in our culture today. ... The word has a totally different meaning, spelling and pronunciation today than it did many years ago. ... The history and the many uses of the word since its creation is described throughout the paper.
