Snood is a fun puzzle game that will test your intellect rather than your reflexes. Your goal is to free all of the trapped Snoods by launching other Snoods at them. If you connect three or more Snoods, they will transport away. If that leaves any Snoods not connected to the top of the playfield, they will fall to safety. Don't take too long, though. Every Snood you launch increases the Danger Level. When the gauge fills up, the Snoods will shift downward. If the Snoods reach you, the game is over. Snood includes the following features: • Set your own pace! There is no time limit in Snood, so you can play as quickly or as patiently as you wish. • Simple controls! You only need the mouse to play. Move it left and right to aim your launcher, and click to launch your Snood. • Multiple difficulty settings! Pick the level that suits your skill, from Child to Evil, or try the Puzzle or Journey levels. • Registered users can even design their own custom difficulty settings and puzzles. Each difficulty level maintains its own high score list and statistics, too. Snood is a good game for children. The game is non-violent and non-confrontational, and children can play at their own pace. It develops several basic skills, including matching, calculation of angles, and simple strategic assessment and problem solving. It does not require reading, and the controls are very simple. The Child difficulty level is easy enough even for young children to enjoy (ages 2-3). Conversely, Snood is fun for older players, too. The oldest Snood player on record is 102 years old; if you beat that record, let us know! Minimum System Requirements To play Snood, you'll need the following: • An IBM PC or compatible (200 mHz or higher recommended) • Windows 98 or XP (Windows 2000 and ME normally work also) • DirectX (7.0 or higher recommended; earlier versions will sometimes work) • A graphics card that is DirectX compatible • A sound card that is DirectX compatible (if sound is desired) • A mouse and keyboard • A monitor capable of at least 640x480 256 color (8 bit) display – higher resolutions and color depths are also supported Playing the Game The object of Snood is to clear all of the Snoods (the little faces) off the playfield. You do this by launching Snoods up from your Snood-O-Matic cannon at the bottom of the screen. You can clear Snoods away in two ways: • Matching – if you match up three or more Snoods of the same color, they will transport themselves to safety. This gets you some points, more if you clear out lots of the Snoods in one shot. • Dropping – if after you transport some Snoods away, some are left with no connection to the top of the playfield, they will be released and fall to safety. This gets you more points, especially if you drop a whole bunch of Snoods at the same time. You can take as much time as you want to line up your shots. Note that you can bounce Snoods off the walls – they're rubbery little guys.
