Dental hygienist are licensed oral health-care
professionals that work under the supervision of dentists
in dental offices or as independent contractors in state
licensed healthcare facilities.The primary responsibility
of a denatal hygienist is to treat existing problems of
the gums, provide preventive dental care,such as cleaning,
and education about how to maintain good oral hygiene.
When a patient arrives the dental hygienist collects
information for patient histories, then examines the teeth
and gums, recording the presence of diseases or
abnormalities. ... The main objective of a dental hygienist is to

health care and the importance of good oral hygiene habits.
Education, training, certification, or licensing
The minimum educational reguirement for a dental
hygienist is completion of a two-year program in a
community college leading to an Associate of Science
degree.
