When there are rules and people comply, a feeling of safety and security takes away the nervousness often felt when dealing with someone who is not willing to conform to society. To conform is encouraged, “Everybody worked on him just the way they’re working on you”, and the results suggest that he who does not conform are often isolated, punished, and misunderstood. There is a prejudice that comes along with the refusal to conform because there is a lack of knowledge and always a fear of the unknown.
