Considering this as a mystery, the thing that needs to be revealed is who Mr. Hyde really is and what the connection is between him and Doctor Jekyll. Robert Louis Stevenson does a good job of giving subtle yet helpful hints in the book. For instance, he constantly shows Hyde entering in Jekyll’s house. Other hints might be that Doctor Jekyll won’t let anybody come over and visit with him for a while. His friends all start to worry and they suspect he is sick or that there is foul play going on. At first Stevenson makes the readers think that Hyde is blackmailing Jekyll, but the observant reader would still find that Hyde would have a house key to Jekyll’s home and comes and goes there as he pleases.
