Grief Presentation Paper! You see it in every TV show you watch; it runs in your life all the time. Have you ever been through grief? When someone close to you is dying or becoming terminally ill. Facing the world without that close someone can seem like a very scary place but life does go on as I have learned. Grieving can happen over many different things, family member becoming ill, someone dying, breaking a limb, moving away from home for the first time. There are many way of dealing with grief also. I’ve never lost a loved one before but my mother is terminally ill; she has had cancer for nine years now. She was given six months to live when I was in the sixth grade. She has been through chemo once, radiation three times and now there is nothing else they can do. I’ve grown up through this pain, and grief is now part of my life. Each week she gets sicker and is unable to do certain tasks sometimes. For example: “You know I’d really love to come and watch you play hockey but I really need my rest” but she has seen me graduate from high school, and seen my brother get married. Those special memories are what keep her fighting cancer. She wants to see her kids grow up and wants use to make her proud. Her will and passionate out look on life; she wants to be a grandmother next. Every goal she achieves brings out another goal to be accomplished. The presentation that I attended by Easthope, Tom, 2004 brought back many memories of when my mom was first diagnosed and she wasn’t given much time to live.
