Ideal image of a leader
The ideal leader will possess and exhibit the following characteristics:
• Motivated: Foresman’s dictionary defines motivate as a “thought or feeling that makes or causes one to act” (595). A leader must firstly be self-motivated, and then he can motivate others to perform optimally. If the leader has a nonchalant attitude about the “job” or organization it will reflect itself not only in his work, but in the work of his subordinates.
• Knowledgeable: As a leader, it is of vital importance that one knows and understands the intricacies of the organization. ... If the leader is knowledgeable, anyone can go to him with questions and get the answered.
