The Language of Technology
What is technical language and when does the language become technical? Today it seems to be very important to find a definition to what technical language really is. People accept that technical language contains a special terminology, with terms and expressions that differ from their everyday language. But since it excludes the general human being, and only is directed to a small group of experts that control the terminology, people seem to think that the existence of technical language almost is stupid. So how come we must have technical language at all?
We all know about our everyday language; it is the language we are taught as little children and it is the language we come across every day when speaking to friends, relatives or the woman in the supermarket. ... The technical language is based upon this everyday language, but the criteria for technical language sometimes seems to be that it shall be unintelligible for the rest of the world.
