Calpunia

There is one woman in To Kill a Mockingbird that doesn’t seem that important but is really an outstanding person who adds a lot to the story. Calpurnia teaches us many things throughout the story. Although we may not realize it, she teaches us everything from good manners to moral in life. Please sit back and enjoy the deep secrets that I am about to unfold for you from To Kill a Mockingbird. Jem and Scout’s mother died when they were young. Calpurnia, their short skinny, near sighted cook, acts as a motherly figure to the children. She teaches Jem and Scout good manners just as a normal mother would. For instance, on page 24, after Scout is rude to Walter Cunningham, Calpurnia pulls Scout into the kitchen.
