Violence in Youth Sports
From the two articles that I read, it is very apparent that violence in youth sports has increased dramatically since I stopped playing soccer and a majority of it comes from our “more mature” parents. Violence has occurred anywhere from a father punching a 16-year-old referee in a peewee football game to a father being brutally murdered over a sons playing time in practice.
The first article I read was titled “Rage in youth sports discussion” by Clark Sturak. One of the major concerns of the MF is how ruthless adults negatively impact the quality of youngsters experience involving sports. ... I agree with this wholeheartedly and have even encountered a situation such as that during my youth sport years. ... He said that,
“When educating parents, coaches should focus on the value of youth sports as a ‘game’ and a way for young people to build self-esteem.
