Nutrition is the organic process of nourishing or being nourished; the processes by which an organism assimilates food and uses it for growth and maintenence. In other words, nutrition, or nutrients are the main substances that operate our body. It runs through your body and it is a necessity. Whether you're playing sports or just hanging out with your friends, nutrients are required. Carbohydrates are an essential structural components of living cells and source of energy for animals; includes simple sugars with small molecules as well as macromolecular substances; are classified according to the number of monosaccharide groups they contain. Carbohydrates in simpler terms, are what give you the energy to run, walk, talk, play sports etc.. Carbohydrates are also a necessity if an athelete if invovled in a physical activity. 60% of your daily diet should contain food that have a good supply of carbs. When you eat, the substance quickly changes into simple sugar, or glucose, and it is stored in the liver. Muscles need a very good source of carbs. According to the article, stored glycogen un the muscle is ready to burn the fuel, but it only lasts about 3 hours. That means a person has to keep on recieving carbs, or he/she can used the stored glycogen, but once you run out, your performance will be in bad shape, as well as your body and muscles. Studies show that carbohydrates are the best fuel for your muscles. Although carbs enhance ones performance, you need to keep on stocking up on it so you can last longer while being involved in a physical activity.
