So Sue stole away from her kangaroo band.” (Lithgow, no page #) The use of rhyme and repetitive language, found throughout this book allow children to have “fun” with words while allowing them to expand the use of descriptive words and their vocabulary. (Norton, 4) -Social Development: I believe the social development of this book is that of a child between the ages of 4 and 5. ... ” (Norton, 27) In the book I’ve chosen, the level of social development is portrayed by the contribution that each marsupial gives to their environment.
