Spectacle and Hyper-reality are constants in our present day society that cause us to lose a true concept of what is real. Guy Debord stated that spectacle is our reality, but that if we worked hard enough we can break through the spectacle and find reality. Jean Baudrillard believed that spectacle is our reality and that we are no longer capable of discovering what reality is. In both cases it is agreed that our present reality is fraudulent. ... In the case of Hooters, I find that it is possible to break through the spectacle and hyper-reality as long as we want to. ... This title for the restaurant is a spectacle in itself, disguising the reality of the word to make it more acceptable for society and its customers. ... There are glass windows open that section to everything inside including the waitresses, televisions, etc… The uniform worn by the waitresses at Hooters magnifies their sexuality to create a hyper-real situation.
