Growing up is hard to do. Growing up female is much different than growing up male. U.S. women should be very greatful that they were raised in the United States. Women around the world grow up much differently than American women. Many are subjected to genital mutilation, as well as, sexist laws, values, and norms.Compare the views of American feminists with the literature and facts available from other countries. Sexism has always been a problem in Western society. It has been a problem that many people overlook, simply because they think it does not actually exist! Sexism is the belief that rights and roles in society should be governed by one’s own sex. Throughout history, sexism has been male-driven and accompanied by a belief in the inferiority of women.
