... One of the controversial issues being disseminated all over the world is the event that occurred in Abu Ghraib. Abu Ghraib is described as an extensive 280-acre gulag, composed with sniper towers and razor wires, dungeons and the stench of human terror. The Abu Ghraib event/scandal has been the center of the attention of different human rights organization all over the world. Consequently, the Abu Ghraib prison was used by Saddam Hussein to detain prisoners who disobeyed the laws. From then on, Abu Ghraib was considered as a threatening detention area since many prisoners have been reported to experience traumatic incidents and some have been sentence to be executed on a mass execution basis. ... However, when Bush administration has decided to have battle against Iraq, the controversy in Abu Ghraib event never stopped. ... The US coalition forces have used Abu Ghraib as a Camp Redemption changing its name to Baghdad Central Confinement Facility (BCCF). Abu Ghraib was used as a imprisonment or correctional facility, detaining more than 7,000 prisoners, some are suspected rebels, some are alleged criminals and others are considered as prisoner of war free from any allegations. ... The world has known the controversy when an American television network (CBS) exposed disturbing photos of the abuse of the prisoner in Abu Ghraib. The Abu Ghraib event that was being revealed by CBS shows how the prisoner has been abused by US authorities assigned to control the area. Moreover, there are evidences of photos and video clips that show the abuse such as, slapping, kicking and punching naked detainees, forcefully videotaping and photographing male and female prison naked, vigorously letting male and female prisoner to pose in various sexually unambiguous position for photography and other acts of abuses given to the prison in Abu Ghraib.
