I. Attention Getter: Nanotechnology is the science of small. Nano is a Greek word for dwarf and nanoscience deals with the study of molecular and atomic particles. Nanometers is equal to billionths of a meter. Its size equals to the one millionth the size of a pinhead. II. Central Idea: we are still in the dawn age of nanotechnology however it can lead to the next industrial revolution. III. Significance Statement: According to Business Week of March 19 ,2004: this field is a vast grab bag of stuff that has to do with creating tiny things that sometimes just happen to be useful. Nanotechnology had become the most highly energized discipline in science and technology. IV. Preview: First I will discuss the importance of nanotechnology. Then, I will talk about some of the negative aspects of it. Finally I will focus on the product that can be built by it. Body I.Nanotechnology plays a crucial part in the future of science. A: lets begin by discussing its benefits: 1. There are countless ways in which particles having microscopic dimensions could transform medicine and science. a. According to Science News article titled Taming high-tech particles, These particles, which have dimensions of billionths of a meter, might deliver drugs to targets inside individual cells or perhaps serve as components in sensors that detect chemical and biological agents.
