The Westminster system has some distinct features as follows: 1) An Executive Branch comprised of the legislature, 2) The presence of opposition parties, 3) a bicameral or unicameral legislature, 4) a ceremonial head of state who is different from the head of government who may possess reserve powers which are not normally exercised. ... Each branch is limited to the exercise of its own function and is not allowed to embark on the functions of the other branches.
