His excessive ambition was so strong that it took over him and made him willing to do any evil deed to achieve his goal. One of his errors in judgment was killing Duncan in order to be king. From the very moment the witches made their predictions it was his fate to become king. Macbeth was a tyrant. He hired murderers to kill his best friend, Banquo, which proved he would break any law and kill any person for victory. “Have you considered of my speeches? Know that it was he in the times past, which held you so under fortunate, which you thought had been Our innocent self: this I made good to you in our last conference; passed in probation with you.” This quote was told to the murder’s of Banquo as an incentive to kill him.
