Animals are extremely important in Timothy Findleys The Wars. Whether its for distraction, necessity, love or compassion, animals played a large role in this book. Many attacks and accidents occur in this book, and throughout it all animals have been present. With such mass destruction, why did Timothy Findley include animals to the extent that he did? I believe The Wars symbolizes animals to be there for love and companionship. ... The Wars may have wanted to represent that, even through the hard times your dog will always be there for you, trying to please you.
