A Clockwork Orange

A Clockwork Orange Throughout A Clockwork Orange Anthony Burgess creates a society where the teenagers’ lives are centered around “twenty-to-one” and “ultra-violence” (violence and rape). Then Alex, the main character, undergoes a new treatment for his crimes. This treatment would become more destructive and detrimental to the society than the original violence itself. The treatment prevented any violent actions by making Alex sick when he thought of them. Although this may seem to be a good idea, it really is a crime in itself. The treatment takes away the ability to defend oneself because of the nauseous feeling it brings.
