The Lord of the Rings – The Return of the King Film Review This is the final film in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The first 2 films were incredible; this one was even better. There are 2 stories that follow on from the previous film. The first is that Frodo and Sam, 2 hobbits, continue their journey to Mount Doom, in Mordor, which is home to the dark lord Sauron, where they hope to destroy the ring. Gollum who knows the way into Mordor leads them there. Gollum also wants the ring for himself, it is his ‘preciousssss.’ On their journey, they encounter numerous obstacles one of which is a giant spider called Shelob, who was warned by Gollum of the hobbit’s coming. Although Shelob stuns Frodo, Sam manages to wound Shelob sufficiently to leave them alone. Whilst Sam and Frodo continue their quest, there is another story that occurs. The rest of the fellowship, including Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Merry and Pippin and other companions such as Theoden, King of Rohan – fight numerous battles against Sauron and his armies. They always cling onto the hope that the ring is still in Frodo’s possession – and to give Frodo a chance of reaching Mount Doom, they lead an army to Mordor, to lure out Sauron’s armies.
