Claude Monet who was a French painter, was born in 1840. By the age of 15 he was known as a caricaturist. He was earning money for his paintings. His family did not approve, he was disowned by his family when he told them that he was moving to Paris to become a painter. He first showed one his painting on 1874 at an exhibition put on by painters, sculptors, and by printmakers. It was then when Edmond Renoir the painter’s brother insisted on a name for the painting. Claude Monet called it “Impression, Sunrise” The word impression had never been used in work of art.
