The television, a major step in technology for man, has even been called the opiate of the masses.
In kids and teenagers television viewing can be closely linked to poor school performance in a range of ways. Longer hours spent in front of the television means less time studying or doing homework. However there are other reasons for television promoting poor school performance. Television prevents thinking as it encourages passive learning and develops short attention spans.
