Picture this. It’s a cold Monday morning and you’re lying sound asleep in your nice warm bed. There’s no TAFE or work today – not even any kids to look after. You plan to sleep in until at least ten o’clock. You deserve this day off, you lie in blissful slumber. But then the phone rings. For a few seconds you pretend to not hear it. Maybe it was a dream. You look at your watch. Who would call this early in the morning? It must be serious. So you start to worry. Has there been a death in the family? Has your grandmother died? Has your grandmother’s cat died? Or perhaps it’s about that competition you entered! Yes, that could be it! Maybe you’ve won! And for a brief minute you even think that it could be that spunk you gave your number to last night. Yes, it could be him. He probably has no idea what time it is. All these possibilities fill you with a rush of adrenalin. You throw your covers off and expose your body to the harsh climates of your bedroom. You stumble out into the hallway, as fast as you can, half asleep and making sure to trip over every piece of furniture or pile of clothes along the way.
