If someone mentions Vietnam, most of us think of the Vietnam War. However, Vietnam is not just the name of a war in history, it is also a country. Vietnam is a country for some organizations that offers the potential for lucrative business ventures. ... In the meantime, Vietnam is saying we are open for business.
Current Market Situation
“Vietnamese industries are having to find new ways of ensuring profits in the wake of recent international upheavals that have disturbed the world’s business environment” (Vietnam News, 2004). Although the Iraq war was thousands of miles away from Vietnam its effects could be felt around the globe. In Vietnam’s case Iraq had been a long term investor in the production of batteries in Vietnam. The war in Iraq halted this production and has forced Vietnam to court other foreign investors.
Vietnam like most other Asian countries is competing for foreign investments. Vietnam has been dealing with issues concerning its infrastructure to make the country more appealing to investors.
