The novel ¡°Color Purple¡± by Alice Walker had an important character called ¡®Celie¡¯ who was the main character and the protagonist of the novel. She was important because she illustrated the strong bonds between women that could overcome all the obstacles no matter that the given situation was. She was also important because she showed a woman¡¯s self-realization and the growth under the pressure of sexism which was the main theme of the novel.
