As Helen Keller has once optomistically said, "Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow." Optomism hasn't always been my strong point. It seemed everywhere I looked my life was filled with shadows. As I searched desperately to find that "sunshine", that Helen Keller wrote about, I learned that my "sunshine" had never really been lost in the first place. On Homecoming night of my junior year, little did I know that my life would change forever. I went to the dance and afterwards went home to change into more casual clothes. After pleading with my parents to let me stay out all night, I left to go to a big Homecoming party.
