Show how the play explores the themes of egotism and self love

The themes of egotism and self-love are revolving around Malvolio, often said to be a minor character. However, we see the dangers of these follies surfacing in the play, through Malvolio¡¯s appearances in the play. In this essay, we will explore these themes in term of Malvolio¡¯s plight and how they are involved in the whole play. Act 1 scene 5 shows the first sign of egotism where we see Malvolio climbing to the peak of superiority by a callous and sacarstic remark towards Feste for the purpose of seeing him humiliated in front of his lady.
