In the past 40 years there has been much controversy on whether the Australian Government should make a formal apology to the Indigenous people of Australia for the Government policies of the past which have affected them. There are a lot of different perspectives, opinions and views over the stolen generation and it has become a topical debate around Australia. Should we apologise for the behaviour of previous generations? Some people believe that the people of Australia should say sorry for past injustices by the earlier colonials, however, others believe that the current generation has no responsibility for actions, which were the order of the day. The stolen generation affected many children and many families were broken. The aboriginal community requests for an apology from the Australian Government for the pain that they caused to their families over the years.
