PREPARATION OF TEACHING SESSION
The name of the placement area, the patients and others involved will not be mentioned to abide with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC, 2002) Code of Professional Conduct which proposes that all-confidential information must be protected. I spent quite a bit of time in deciding what topic to discuss for my teaching session with my mentor. ... Also, I believe that providing information about clozapine treatment and associated risks and benefits over other antipsychotic treatment will enhance a sense of empowerment and willingness to take prescribed medication as supported by Tempier (1996), who suggested that treatment adherence may be enhanced by formal teaching about medication. ... This has created a bit of anxiety in me to prepare adequately for the session to clients that probably already have huge knowledge in the subject I am teaching. ... I really wanted to do much well than the session I had in college. ... I started to think seriously how things would go during the session.
In the process of preparing for my teaching session, I could identify my strengths in approaching all the three patients currently on clozapine treatment on the unit to invite them to attend the session. ... Secondly, my desire to succeed and enthusiasm showed to prepare for the teaching sessions and negotiating with the assessor about the venue, time and materials for the teaching session. ...
SESSION DELIVERY
Generally speaking, the session went well according to plans. ... The session took place in the conference room where Doctors ward round usually takes place but because it was a Friday afternoon, there was no ward review and nothing was scheduled for the room apart from the teaching session. ... The teaching was conducted in a conference room big enough to accommodate my students. ... Handouts were given to participants at the end of the session. Apart from the issue of the acetates, the session went as planned because of the conducive environment, the patience and co-operation of the participants throughout the session and my ability to manage the learning effectively.

REFLECTIVE EVALUATION OF SESSION
Kim (1999) has indicated that reflection is a process of consciously examining what has happened in terms of thoughts, feelings and actions against underlying beliefs, assumption and knowledge as well as against the back drop in which specific practice has occurred. ... Hoban (2004) views reflection as a learning tool to support the continuation of life long learning and further proposes that a reflective culture needs to develop in the team. I was feeling a bit worried when I realised that my mentor who has been quite supportive with my learning needs since the commencement of the placement would not be the one assessing my teaching session but another qualified nurse from the female unit.
