Should Thylacine Tasmania Tiger be clonned
According to the newspaper, Friday, May 5, 2000, Australian scientists declared that they would bring thylacine or Tasmanian tiger to life by a scientific method called “cloning”. Since 1995, Tasmanian tiger was declared extinct. ... Should the Thylacine be cloned? Tasmanian tiger or thylacine is a largest marsupial that lived in Australia around 3000 years ago but began to disappear between 2000 and 200 years ago. The Tasmanian tiger was named because it was only seen on the island state although modern science has revealed it used to be in the mainland. ... In 1803, white settlers began to settle in Tasmania and at that time, there were a small number of tigers already. Tasmanian tiger was charged for killing poultry and sheep, so the government offered to pay an Australian pound an animal in 1886. Finally, in 1910 none of Tasmania Tiger were seen and it showed that this species was almost gone and in 1995, the last tiger died in Hobart Zoo and the species was declared extinct. ... However, Tasmanian tiger is different. All of those clones are from living creatures, but Tasmanian tiger has to be cloned by using the DNA which was extracted from Thylacine pups which were preserved in ethanol for 134 years.
