Redemption in king lear forms from the nothingness of lears predicament; nothing will come of nothing, which sees Lear the protagoinist in the play follow a road of redemption through retribution amoumgst others characters who seek redemption.
Albany’s road to redemption is not one of endurance nor absolute suffering as we are to see Albany’s good traits throughtout the play have been overruled by his love for Gonerils “I can not be so partial Goneril, to the great love I bear you” Albanys respect for the king and glouster redeems any evilness Albany contained “Glouster I live to thank thee for the love thou showedst the king and to revenge thine eyes” Albany grows into a stronger man gaining the ability to defend himself “you are not worth the dust that the rude wind blows in your face” the role of Albany receiving redemption plays a minuet role in the play due to his already milky gentleness.
Edmonds redemption; Through Edmonds silioquies we can understand his pain from being the illegimate son but also the high degree of evilness that he contains. ... Is on the life of lear and on cordelia.
