The drive The white Holden Ute rumbled along, on its last legs… like it has been for the last five years. The car was at least 18 years old. He still remembered buying it second hand. The even older holden had given up and had forced him to buy a new car, something Mary had been yammering at him to do for years. So he’d gone and brought it, at a fairly good price considering its make and relative youth. It’d only needed a few tune-ups in 14 years, and because of that he’d grown to love it. Much sturdier than his last one. He remembered the day his father, Dan, had given it to him. He’d kept that car for as long as possible. The old holden, had scratches around the wheel casings, and you could sometimes see them, when the mud was washed off.
