Bernheim Forest
Isaac Bernheim was a German immigrant who settled in Kentucky. He purchased thousands of acres from the United States Trust Company, and in 1929 established the Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest on the land. Isacc Bernheim went from a minor peddler to a successful businessperson in the whiskey distilling industry. Thankful for the wealth of his operation, he decided to donate the Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest to the people of Kentucky as a gift. ...
