Media and Eating Disorders
For our topic we chose eating disorders and the media. ... Many teenagers are struggling with weight and appearance and we wanted to see if their was a correlation between the media images and adolescent’s body. Our hypothesis is that we think that there is a correlation between the media images and adolescent’s body, which repercussion among male and females in high school. ... Our independent variable was the eating disorders. The dependent variable were the media and the images of skinny and fat people. ... Our research is valid because it is measuring what we are trying to measure which is if media images effect us, and how one perceives his or her own body. ... After the exposure, participants were asked to fill out the questionnaire that dealt with the media, body image, and eating disorders.
