Semiotic The Meaning of Semiotic What is a country? A country may not have king. A country may not have there own language. A country may sometimes even small than a city. But each country must have their own flag to represent her. No matter what the shape or color the flag have, it represented a special meaning. For example the China flag, a red field with five golden-yellow stars (each with five points) in the upper left corner. The star on the left is larger than the other four. The red color of the flag symbolizes revolution. The large star symbolizes the Communist Party (which rules China) and the smaller stars represent the people of China . From the flag, we can see the history background and the culture of a country. Why does the flag matter so much? How could a piece of cotton or silk with colored markings come to have so much communicative force?
