The title suggests that the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry, a reference to Robert Burns's poem "To a Mouse." This is an old post but i ll answer it. THe Title comes from the quote or saying The dreams Of mice and Men often Go awry. So if you read the quote it already tells you that any dreams in the Book will fail. THe Mice in the book are characters like Lennie and Crooks And the one Mouse in the book is Slim. THe Theme is Life is hopeless there fore it is hopeless. Now you have ot remember this was written during the great depression. I answered the "theme" above in the thread titled... moral. However you wanted to know how the title ties in with the book? Mice represents one of the themes. Strength and weakness. Lennies power over the Mice is his strenght and also what defeats him in the end...
