Education has always been an area of pride not only for me, but as well as the rest of my family. Education has always been looked upon as a gift worth utilizing. I have watched as my mother as well as my father have returned to school in order to receive their diplomas. Watching both of them pursue their goals has only spurred me on to do the same. I understand that knowledge is an empowering gift that can help me grow as an individual and in turn help my surrounding community to expand as well. I also realize that in today’s society some form of higher education is needed in order to survive. I sincerely believe that education is one key, out of many, that I will need later in life in order to open up doors of opportunity that would otherwise be locked to me.
