Macroeconomics: Why Women Have to Work
Today’s labor force is becoming more heavily packed with women who are entering the job market. Since the cost of living has risen so much within the past decade, the opportunity for mothers to choose whether or not to stay at home has significantly dropped. This is not to say that all women are being thrust into the workforce, as many women are still choosing to be the single care givers while the male provides the income. Though studies have show that most of middle class America can no longer depend on the father’s income (which is the revenue earned by households that can be used for consumption or saving) alone to provide for the essentials.
