W.B. Yeats wrote many brilliant poems in his time, most of which are today studied in depth around the world. Yeats had many distinctive styles of writing in his poetry, though his style changed and developed as the years went by. one aspect of his poetry was symbolism.
His use of symbolism enabled him to express a wide variety of themes throughout his poems. For example, one of his early poems "The Lake Isle Of Innisfree" is itself a symbol of what Yeats was longing for. ...
A later poem of Yeats is "sepember 1913". Symbolism is ripe throughout this poem. In the first stanza we have the image of a "miser" grabbing evry last coin from the "greasy till" this is an attack on the middle class society in general, yeats reckons theyre only interessed in personal gain.
