During Operation FOAL Eagle, 3rd Platoon was attached to 2-72 Armor along with Bravo Company, 2-9 Infantry.(DID YOU WORK FOR THE B CO CDR OR DID YOU WORK DIRECTLY FOR THE COMMANDER OF 2-27 ARMOR?) The deployment ended with a DMZ tour escorted by 2nd Infantry Division just prior to rotating back to Fort Lewis, WA on 02 April 2004. On 11 March 2004, 3rd Platoon was detached from Bravo Company, 1-5 Infantry, and placed under the control of 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division. CPT Westphal and CPT Fields WERE tasked by brigade and corps, respectively, to assist in the deployment of the platoon. Both captains assisted in the coordination for food, lodging, storage and cleaning facilities while at Fort Polk. From 12 to 14 March, weapons and vehicle maintenance were conducted prior to tips and scales at the Warrior Brigade Motor Pool. On 15 March 2004, pallets and vehicles were line hauled from JRTC to Alexandria International Airport. Once at Camp Casey, the vehicles were downloaded into the 1-72 Armor HHC motor pool and the platoon was given lodging at the Warrior Exercise Barracks operated by DISCOM. On 19 March, each vehicle crew underwent an eight-hour block of instruction on driving in Korea because the results of the driver’s exam at Fort Polk were forwarded from brigade to CPT Fields or representatives with the 2nd Infantry Division. THE PRECENDING SENTENCES DON’T SOUND COMPLETE, NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED WITH DRIVERS EXAMS AT POLK, DID YOU FAIL, DID THEY NOT GET TO 2ID? SEEMS LIKE YOU ARE BLAMING SOMEONE FOR SOMETHING BUT I CANNOT FOLLOW IT.Following the drivers test, the platoon moved with its equipment to the Twin Bridges Training Area.
