Robert E. Lee, commander of Confederate Army, has the idea of taking war to the North instead of South this time. He takes his army to the Northern side of Virginia. They marched to the Union capital to present to our president, Abraham Lincoln with his terms for recognition of the Confederate side. When I saw the Confederate army entering the small town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. I knew something was going on. I saw them looking for shoes because Lee’s army had none at least 80% of them had no shoes. General John Buford’s Union corps went to get ready for the Confederate Army’s arrival by going on the ridege of low lying hills to the west of Gettysburg. Burfod and his men held ground for a long period of time just to stop Confederate Army’s advance. While they were doing that both sides bring every man available to the town.
