The ghost of Hamlet’s recently deceased father is seen and the ghost tells of whom caused his early demise. Horatio, Marcellus, and Barnardo witness what happened and tell Hamlet. Hamlet later meets his fathers ghost and he is told that he must Avenge his fathers’ murder. Hamlet’s is very religious and knowing that murder is wrong he also knows that even though he doesn’t like to make waves, that there could be consequences for his actions if he goes through with this terrible act. Hamlet now despises his uncle and foils any plans for his uncle to be rid of him by simply acting crazy. Hamlet is being spied on by his school chums Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Ophelia is the daughter of Polonius and she has been sent by King Claudius to distract Hamlet with her womanly wiles and later she is told not to see Hamlet anymore by her brother Laertes and her father because, Hamlet is just using her. Ophelia is not in the same league socially, as Hamlet because, he is a prince from a wealthy and powerful family.
