Who or what is Godot is a question no person can help but ask after reading Samuel Beckett’s masterpiece, Waiting for Godot. In essence, this very question is an example of what Beckett was trying to convey through his ambiguous character, Godot. From day to day Didi and Gogo wait for salvation, a solution, which they think Godot can offer, but his illusion however, is falsified hope, created by the story’s main characters Estragon and Vladimir. The two often find themselves ready to leave before they realize they can’t, because they are waiting for Godot.
