Boyz N the Hood This movie is about how 3 boys deal with growing up in a rough part of Los Angeles. The 3 boys, Tre, Doughboy, and Ricky, encounter many obstacles throughout the movie, such as gang violence, teen pregnancy, and drugs. The most alarming part of the movie is that these are normal young boys, who are changed as a result of their hazardous environment. The movie had many different agendas it wished to pursue. The first aspect the movie encountered was how culture and parents affect the way children are raised. To illustrate this are the 3 main characters. Doughboy is raised by an unfit mother who lets him do as he pleases while doting on the older son, Ricky. As a result, Doughboy looks to his peers for acceptance, who are into drugs and guns. This leads to his early entry into jail, and his unhealthy lifestyle. Ricky is Doughboy’s older brother and a gifted athlete. He is thoroughly pursued by many colleges for his football playing skills.
