This assignment will be looking at the objectives of both the commercial and public sectors of the sports industry. ... This is the major difference between a commercial sector organisation and a public sector organisation. Where as the commercial organisation primary objectives is to achieve this, or to at least achieve “an adequate return on investment” Torkildsen (1999), the public sector has other primary objectives. Even though its primary objectives are not to make a financial profit, public sectors may still make a profit.
With the commercial sectors primary objective to make a financial profit, it is not surprising that it is the most dominant sector in the supply of sport and recreation. ...
