Giving Yourself A Life Sentence “Wow, those cookies smell great,” I said as I walked in the door to my house with my friend following behind me. She said nothing. “Don’t you think they smell good?” She replied, “I wouldn’t know, I can’t smell.” She lost her sense of smell because she has been a smoker for five years. People should never start to smoke. The ones that do should find a way to stop because losing your sense of smell is only one of the many serious results that long-term smokers have to worry about. Cigarettes kill 1,200 Americans a day. (http://www.thetruth.com/truth.cfm) Many Americans know this scary fact is true but continue to puff away on their tobacco filled stress relievers every hour.
