Tennis and badminton are both popular games throughout the world. I used to play badminton well in China, but rarely played tennis because we had very few tennis courts in China. After I came to the United States, I started to play tennis more often than I had played badminton. At first, I thought tennis would be similar to badminton because they looked similar. I played badminton well in China, so I thought I should play tennis well too. However, after I practiced playing tennis for a while, I found I was wrong. Although tennis and badminton look similar because they both use rackets and balls, actually they are different when it comes to regulations, equipment and skills.
First, tennis and badminton have very different regulations. In tennis, player can hit balls either before balls fall on the ground or after balls hit once on the ground. ... Generally, tennis player has to win at least 5 balls to win the game, but badminton player has to win at least 15 balls to win the game.
