Shattered Glass
After viewing the movie “Shattered Glass” and reading the article “Hack Heaven”, I do find it hard to believe that a person at such a reputable magazine could get away with such behaviors. I think that since the magazine has such a high following, and was the official on-flight magazine of the president, there should be no way that Stephen Glass could get away with writing twenty-five fictitious articles. ... They would have seen the fake website, or heard the phony voicemail, or even found out that the building Glass said was used was closed on Sundays. ... But I think that since Stephen Glass was able to come up through the ranks of the magazine that he was able to manipulate the system. ... Honestly, having no knowledge of Glass’s fabrications, I don’t know if I would be skeptical of his articles or not. ... In conclusion, I do feel that it is very difficult to believe that Stephen Glass was able to fabricate as many stories as he did at such a reputable magazine as the New Republic.
