Adolescence In the 1800’s Charles Dickens wrote in, A Tale of Two Cities, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness.” Dickens was referring to England in 1775 yet it is perfect when speaking on adolescence. When reflecting on my own adolescence I have many positive and negative experiences. Adolescence is the period of physical and psychological development from the onset of puberty to maturity (Websters). ... With this being said, the average age for a person to experience adolescence is between the ages of ten and twenty-five. ... In adolescence between the stages of being an adult and being a child a person enters a “psychological moratorium”. ... Most adolescences conform to mainstream ideals, attitudes, and habits of other adolescence (Santrock). ... So from a spectator’s perspective it would be easy to say that Faron’s worst part of adolescence was while he was doing drugs. ... Being an adolescence was a very trying situation. ... In the PBS documentary, A World of Their Own: The Teenage Brain, it is obvious that the teenage brain may determine what kind of experience an adolescence will have. ... It is difficult to look at adolescence and say whether it is a good thing or a bad thing.
