Adolescence In the 1800’s Charles Dickens wrote in, A Tale of Two Cities, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness.” Dickens was referring to England in 1775 yet it is perfect when speaking on adolescence. When reflecting on my own adolescence I have many positive and negative experiences. Adolescence is the period of physical and psychological development from the onset of puberty to maturity (Websters). ... With this being said, the average age for a person to experience adolescence is between the ages of ten and twenty-five. ... In adolescence between the stages of being an adult and being a child a person enters a “psychological moratorium”. ...
